Always enjoy reading your threads as they always tend to carry some humor. This one gave me a good laugh. Before the season, when you said you were looking forward to discussing the NFL, I had no idea you would be sharing such levity. Miss your selection threads though, but understand. Hope your season has gone well.

TED,

It is always an honour to have you post in my thread. On this occasion, maybe for once, you typed in error the word ‘levity’ when you meant naivety.

<o:p></o:p>
My season so far, can be summed up by the Albert Einstein Quote “Every step, appears to be, the inevitable consequences of the preceding one. In the end, it beckons, more and more clearly, total annihilation”

<o:p></o:p>
As a player for some 35 yrs, I have learnt the hard way, to minimise losses, so financially it has not been a problem. However, it has affected me in other ways, namely keeping up records and posting on here.

<o:p></o:p>
The first problem is common when one is on a losing streak; it’s not easy to spend two hours up-dating when bets have been lost. Of course, the usual confidence loss is also a burden. I am annoyed with myself for falling into this obvious trap and I think the cause is, the relatively short NFL season. After hours of pre-season study, there’s a tendency to enter the fray as soon as possible.

<o:p></o:p>
The posting situation has really been the thing that has disappointed me. Earlier in the season, I felt like an over-matched Boxer, getting off the floor, just to take another hit, and then again. My objective of sharing the fruits of hours of study are somewhat tempered by constantly getting Egg on ones face.

<o:p></o:p>
No matter, the play-offs are here and by the end of the week, everything will be up-dated and I will be ready for battle.

Another enjoyable read I must say. Looking forward to the playoffs as well. Finally, the garbage will have been put out to dumps and what remains, although questionable, particularly in the NFC, will provide we punters, as you say, an opportunity for 11 more games spanning 4 weeks to make our last stand. It will be a new season, so freshen up and ready yourself to tackle the games. Best wishes for a successful post season.
